1These are the journeys of the sons of Israel, which went out from the land of Egypt by their hosts under the hand of Moses and Aaron.2Moses wrote their starting points for the journeys at the mouth of the LORD, and these are their journeys by their starting points.3And they journeyed from Rameses in the first month on the fifteenth day of the first month; it is Kadesh.37And they set out from the sanctuary and encamped at Mount Hor, at the edge of the land of Edom.38And Aaron the priest went up to Mount Hor at the mouth of the LORD and died there in the fortieth year for the sons of Israel to go out from the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first of the month.39And Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on the mountain, Mount Hor.40And the Canaanite, the king of Arad—who was dwelling in the Negev, in the land of Canaan—when the sons of Israel came.41And they journeyed from Mount the Mountain and encamped at Selmonah.42And they journeyed from Tzalmonah and encamped at Punon.43And they journeyed from Punon and encamped at Oboth.44And they journeyed from Oboth and encamped at Iye-haabarim, on the border of Moab.45And they journeyed from Iyim and encamped at Dibon Gad.46And they journeyed from Dibon of Gad and encamped at Almon-Diblathaimah.47And they journeyed from Almon-diblathaim and encamped in the mountains of the transgression of covenant boundaries before Nebo.48And they journeyed from the mountains of the Abarim and encamped in the Arabah of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.49And they encamped by the Jordan from Beth HaShimoth to Abel HaShittim in the Arabah of Moab.50And the LORD spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying:51Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them: "When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan."52And you shall dispossess all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and you shall destroy all their figurines and all the images of their molten images, and you shall destroy all their high places and exterminate them.53And you shall dispossess the land and dwell in it, for I have given the land to you to possess it.54And you shall take possession of the land by lot for your families; to the many you shall increase his inheritance, and to the few you shall diminish his inheritance; to whichever the lot goes out for him, there it shall be his; for the staffs of your fathers you shall take possession.55But if you do not dispossess the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those whom you leave over from them will be thorns in your eyes and pricks in your sides, and they will harass you in the land in which you dwell.56And it will be just as I planned to do to them, I will do to you.
